WOW! I like how you think. I like the fact that you have a plan & yet you are open to what God might have planned for you even if it’s not part of your “plan”. And it’s ok to change your mind & change it back again, that’s what life is all about & you’ll probably do that a million times more before it’s all said & done. We all do, it’s just that most of us won’t admit it.

It may not be a structured as reading about someone’s progress plowing through 500 recipes, but personally I find your blog more interesting than that because we’re seeing a person’s destiny and fate play out….

D-wow I guess we’re related because the not joining in thing is ME….and I do worry how that is percieved by my friends. Over the years I’ve lost friends becuse they thinkI just don’t care or are “snobby.” The friends I have now hang in there with me and know I care about them even if I don’t express or “do” lots of things with them. Even my sister forgives me of that (mabybe-I think)…so I really liked this one the best of all of your blogs because you’re showing how kind and patient and forgiving people can be because we all have (or should have) things we’re working on…….

FIRST OF ALL

because you didn’t have to overcome anything.

you didn’t have to tell your parents.

nobody thinks you’re going to hell just because of it.

and you didn’t have to worry about what anybody thought of you or what they would do to you because of it.

what makes you think there is not heterosexual pride? it’s not my fault that they’re not as loud as us and are less often on the news. maybe if their t-shirts were more colorful?

The point is we’re not qualified to critique ourselves.

1 corinth. 4:3 actually says “What about me? have i been faithful? Well, it matters very little what you or anyone else thinks. I don’t even trust my own judgement on this point. My conscious is clear, but that isn’t what matters. It is the Lord himself who will examine me and decide.”

So if we try to critique ourselves by our own standards it won’t do any good because our standards are off.

I really like your take on this: “we shouldn’t listen to any criticism from people and we shouldn’t criticize ourselves either. we should rely on pin pricks.”
But rather I would also say that we need to critique ourselves because that helps us do better next time. We just need to be careful not to dwell on it too much – that is a really easy trap to fall into.

I liked your comment about people realizing they know they have a problem & they’re working on it, but don’t forget about those who haven’t yet realized they have a problem & so are not yet “working on it”. They may figure it out soon or maybe not even for many years until one day for some unknown reason they suddenly wake up! They probably deserve some slack too. For example I have only just recently realized that I talk too much* & I also stick my foot in my mouth quite often (I’m sure it’s because I don’t know when to shut up). I wonder how many “foot-in-mouth” statements I have made over the years w/out realizing it? Probably don’t want to really know the ans. to that.

*Kinda like this “comment”…..
