ok so about censorship
i started reading "Go Ask Alice" the other day, i checked it out of the library at school and i know i’m going against what i said a while ago, but i think it’s really important that that book doesn’t get banned. i can really understand how it gets banned, because the mojority of the time, alice (that’s not her name) talks about how amazing and wonderful drugs are. she also dies from them in the end.
Banned books week is coming up, actually it starts tomorrow, and the list is up on the wall in the library of books that are banned and all the books that have been banned that the school library curently has are in a display case.
i don’t think the mojority of these books should have been censored. i mean, i clearly haven’t read them all, but how can you ban fahrenheit 451? a book that speaks loud and proud against censorship! but no, i don’t think most of the books that were banned should have been banned. i don’t have any opinion about Catcher in the rye- because i failed to find the point of that book.
but anyways, the only books i say should be banned are those japanese porn graphic novels that i talked about before, and stuff just like that. i don’t think classic literature should be banned just because it’s rated r.
oh and i was also wrong. They didn’t decide to ban those books in pennsylvania after all. so what’s the point of banned books week? we are protesting something that the government is on our side about! i think that might be a first.
