two dollars

i don’t know if i mentioned this before or not but i’m working at sears right now as an "MCA" which means merchandise and customer assistant, basically i straighten clothes.   even though i’m not a cashier, they showed me how to use the cash register and everything so that when it gets super busy i can help out.  well that’s what happened the other day

since i don’t work at the checkout counter everyday i don’t always know about all the sales, so on that day i didn’t know that if you use your sears card you get an extra ten percent off. well this woman came up and she bought twenty dollars worth of stuff and she wanted to use her sears card.  she asked me what things she gets ten percent off of, and i didn’t know what she was talking about so i asked one of the cashiers standing beside me.  it turns out that i was suposed to ask her if she was using her sears card, and then i was suposed to put the extra ten percent off in the computer.

we went through a whole ordeal, and she made me feel like crap ,"he didn’t even ask me if i wanted ten percent off…" she was talking about me like i wasn’t even there.  she just went on and on and i was like "sorry…i’m not actually a cashier i just fill in if we’re busy. "

so in the end she got her two dollars and she stormed out.  i would just like to know… since when is saving two dollars worth making somebody else feel bad?
